Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL) conducts Public Fire Protection Surveys similar to those conducted by ISO (Insurance Services Office, Inc.) in most other parts of the US. Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL) field representatives conduct Public Fire Protection Surveys by application of the FSRS (Fire Suppression Rating Schedule) in communities throughout Louisiana.  These inspections, similar to those conducted by ISO (Insurance Services Office, Inc.) in most other parts of the country, are performed for the purpose of establishing fire insurance rates for commercial and residential fire insurance premiums.
